Look at 43281 and 43282 when it involves the implantation of mesh.
As per CPT 2011 Changes, there are some revisions made to the esophageal laparascopy
section. There is now
43280 Laparoscopy, surgical, esophagogastric fundoplasty (eg. Nissen, Toupet procedures)
43281 Laparoscopy, surgical, repair of paraesophageal hernia, includes fundoplasty, when
performed; without implantation of mesh
43282 ------- with implantation of mesh
there is a NEW CODE added for 2011:
that new code is an add-on code:
+43283 Laparoscopy, surgical, esophageal lengthening procedure
** Because this is an add on code, it can not be a "stand-alone" code use this code in
conjuction with 43280, 43281, 43282
